Quick Start — Your First 30 Minutes

You don’t need to understand the whole system. You need 4 buckets and 30 minutes.

The Problem You’re Solving

Your life is scattered across 15 apps, 3 notebooks, and your memory. Ideas get lost. Decisions get forgotten. Goals drift. And nothing talks to each other.

We’re going to fix that. In 30 minutes, you’ll have one place for everything — and it’ll work for the rest of your life.

Step 1 — Understand the Four Buckets (2 minutes)

Everything in your life fits into four buckets:

🧠 TECH & AI Your tools, your systems, your digital infrastructure
💪 YOU Your health, your money, your endeavor, your identity
🏡 YOUR FOUNDATION Your relationships, community, home
👑 YOUR ENDEAVOR Your career, ventures, brand, impact

That’s it. Four buckets. When something comes into your life, you ask one question: which bucket?

What happenedWhich bucket?
Doctor’s appointment💪 YOU
New career idea👑 YOUR ENDEAVOR
Community event invite🏡 YOUR FOUNDATION
Want to try a new AI tool🧠 TECH
Need to fix the fence🏡 YOUR FOUNDATION
Found a great article about investing💪 YOU (your money)
Client wants a proposal👑 YOUR ENDEAVOR

Quick exercise: Think of 3 things on your mind right now. Put each in a bucket. Done? You just learned the One Mind organization system.

Step 2 — Create Your First Notes (10 minutes)

Open your vault in Obsidian (or any text editor). You’ll see four folders:

00-24 SO (Sovereign Operations)/ ← 🧠 TECH & AI
25-49 HP (Holistic Performance)/ ← 💪 YOU
50-74 LE (Legacy Evolution)/ ← 🏡 YOUR FOUNDATION
75-99 GE (Generational Endeavor)/ ← 👑 YOUR ENDEAVOR

Create 3 notes. Pick the templates that match what’s on your mind:

“I want to achieve something” → Use the Goal template

Open _codex/templates/goal.md. Fill it in:

---
title: "Get back in shape"
type: goal
status: active
created: 2026-03-24
owner: your-name
ai_summary: "Work out 3x/week, lose 15 lbs by June"
---

## What's the goal?
Work out 3 times per week consistently.

## Why does it matter?
Energy is low, clothes don't fit, want to be a good example for kids.

## What does "done" look like?
Consistent gym habit for 8 weeks. Down 15 lbs.

## Target date
June 2026

Save it in 25-49 HP/ (the YOU bucket — it’s about your health).

”I need to do something” → Use the Task template

Open _codex/templates/task.md. Fill it in:

---
title: "Call accountant about LLC"
type: task
status: active
created: 2026-03-24
owner: your-name
ai_summary: "Call accountant to discuss LLC formation for new business"
---

## What needs to happen?
Call my accountant to ask about LLC vs S-Corp for the new venture.

## Done when?
Call completed and decision made on entity type.

## By when?
This week (Friday)

Save it in 75-99 GE/ (the GROWTH domain).

”I want to remember something” → Use the Note template

Open _codex/templates/note.md. Jot it down:

---
title: "Podcast idea: weekly AI tools roundup"
type: note
status: draft
created: 2026-03-24
owner: your-name
ai_summary: "Idea for weekly podcast covering new AI tools and workflows"
---

Weekly podcast format: pick 3 new AI tools each week, test them live,
share what works. 15-20 minutes. Casual, unscripted.
Could start with just audio, add video later.

Save it in 75-99 GE/ (GROWTH — it’s a career/venture idea).

Congratulations. You just did the first two steps of CODEX: you Captured (got things out of your head) and Organized (put them in the right bucket with the right type).

Step 3 — Learn the Five Steps (3 minutes)

The system has 5 steps. Here they are in plain English:

1. CAPTURE Get it out of your head and into the vault
2. ORGANIZE Put it in the right bucket
3. DIRECT Decide what matters most and who's doing it
4. EXECUTE Do the work (or let your AI help)
5. × MULTIPLY Review your week — each review makes the system smarter

You just did steps 1 and 2.

Step 3 (Direct) is deciding what to work on. Look at your goals and tasks — which one matters most this week? That’s your priority.

Step 4 (Execute) is doing the work. Go run. Make the call. Write the draft. If you have an AI agent, it can handle research, drafting, and analysis for you.

Step 5 (× Multiply) is your Sunday review. 30 minutes to look at what happened and plan next week. We call it “multiply” because every time you review, the system gets smarter. Your notes get cleaner. Your priorities get sharper. It compounds.

That’s the whole system. Capture → Organize → Direct → Execute → × Multiply. Repeat weekly.

Step 4 — Your Inbox (2 minutes)

Real life is messy. Sometimes you capture something and don’t know which bucket it belongs in. That’s fine.

Every bucket has an inbox folder called 06 Inbox (Queue)/. When in doubt:

  1. Drop it in the inbox of the closest bucket
  2. If you can’t even pick a bucket, drop it in the TECH inbox (it’s the catch-all)
  3. During your Sunday review, you’ll sort the inbox — takes 5 minutes

The golden rule:

If it takes more than 10 seconds to decide where something goes, put it in the inbox and move on. Sort it Sunday.

Never let the perfect folder stop you from writing something down.

Step 5 — Your First Sunday Review (10 minutes)

This is the × (multiply) step. Do this every Sunday for 30 minutes:

The Sunday Review Checklist

□ Open each inbox. Move things to the right place or delete them.
□ Look at your goals. Any progress this week?
□ Look at your tasks. What got done? What didn't?
□ What's the #1 priority for next week?
□ Write 3 sentences:
   - What worked this week
   - What didn't work
   - What I'll change next week

Save your review in the YOU bucket using the review template. That’s it.

Why this matters: The review is where the magic happens. Each week you do this, you’re not just organizing — you’re teaching yourself (and your AI) what matters. The system gets smarter every cycle. That’s the multiplication effect.

What Comes Next

You now have a working CODEX. Four buckets, a few notes, and a weekly review. That’s all you need to start.

As your system grows, here’s what unlocks naturally:

Month 1 — Domains Appear

Your buckets will naturally split into specific areas:

💪 YOU → Health, Finance, Identity
👑 YOUR ENDEAVOR → Career, Brand, Strategy, Ventures
🏡 YOUR FOUNDATION → Relationships, Community, Home
🧠 TECH → Agents, Tools, Automation

These are called domains. Each bucket can hold up to 25 domains. You activate them as you need them — most people use 15-30 total.

Month 2 — More Note Types

Beyond goals, tasks, and notes, you’ll discover:

TemplateWhen You Need It
DecisionRecording a choice with context so future-you remembers why
ProjectPlanning a multi-step effort with milestones
MetricTracking a number over time (weight, revenue, savings)
SOPDocumenting a repeatable process step-by-step

Month 3+ — AI Agents

If you’re using AI agents (Claude, GPT, etc.), the vault becomes their context. Every note you write with good frontmatter teaches your AI about your life. Eventually, agents can:

  • Triage your inbox
  • Draft documents
  • Research topics
  • Track your metrics
  • Run your SOPs

This is what makes One Mind an operating system instead of a notebook.
